DC holds inquiry  into scam of illegal sale of sugar in  Gujar Khan

RAWALPINDI - Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi Capt (R) Anwaar Ul Haq has directed Assistant Commissioner (AC) Gujar Khan to hold inquiry into an incident of sale of sugar in black in Ramazan Sasta Bazaar, informed sources on Saturday
He sought inquiry report from AC Gujar Khan Hira Rizwan in 24 hours, they said.
A video of two policemen grabbing sugar bags from backside of Ramazan Sasta Bazaar and loading in official mobile van went viral on social media compelling the district government head to initiate action against the management of bazaar. According to government policy, a person is allowed to purchase 2kg sugar from Ramazan Sasta Bazaar on subsidised rate.
In a notification, issued by AC Gujar Khan Hira Rizwan, Chief Officer Municipal Committer Tehsil Gujar Khan has been ordered to hold inquiry into illegal sale of sugar by the management.
Meanwhile, City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younas has placed the four cops under suspension for their involvement in buying sugar illegally from the bazaar.
Earlier, a police spokesman said, “Unacceptable misconduct; for which the concerned have been issued show cause notices and departmental inquiry is being conducted against them accordingly.”
