Pakistani women get share of inheritance according to religious right: Gallup survey
Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 65% Pakistanis say that women in their households or in their acquaintances households get their share of inheritance according to their religious right.
A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the four provinces was asked, in your opinion, do women in your household or your acquaintances relatives households get their share of inheritance as is their religious right. In response to this question, 65% respondents said that women do get their inherited shares while 35% said they did not get their due shares.

According to the gender breakdown, 63% males said that women in their household or in their acquaintances’ household do get their share of inheritance according to their religious right while 36% males said that the women do not get their share of inheritance. 1% of the males did not respond. On the other hand a greater percentage of women 68% said that women get their share of inheritance while 32% women said that they do not get it.
