ISLAMABAD-Police have apprehended a total of 56 outlaws including 13 active members of dacoit gangs and recovered looted items worth over Rs11 million during the last one month.
The investigation officers of capital police were using modern technology and human resources in the investigation process to arrest the accused, said Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman on Friday. He said the capital had witnessed a significant decline in crime due to effective strategy of police force. All resources were being used to bring the people to justice, he added.
Meanwhile, DIG (Operations) Afzaal Ahmed Kausar said the Islamabad police was conducting operations with better and more effective strategy to curb crime in the city. A crackdown was underway to eradicate street crimes.
Police teams were using scientific methods and technology to trace the groups of accused and recovered the stolen goods from them, he added.
The DIG appealed the citizens to fulfill their national duty and help police in restoring law and order and eradicating crime in the city.
He directed police officers to expedite actions against proclaimed offenders including the accused involved in robbery and dacoity incidents.
He further asked the department to enhance patrolling at various areas to secure public properties.
