Mardan - The district police in separate operations against anti-social elements, arrested four accused and recovered illegal weapons and huge quantity of hashish and ice from them, a press statement said.  

According to the statement, on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Dr Zahidullah Khan, Mardan police have lanched operations against criminals in the district. Shahbaz Garhi Police Station and Chura Police Station teams arrested two accused identified as Bakhat Naveed resident of Swabi and Sajid Khan resident of Bakhshali and recovered two Kalashnikov rifles, five chargers and 147 rounds from their possession.  

In another raid the Narcotics Eradication Team (NET) and Garhi Kapura Police Station officials arrested two drug dealers Abdul Rehman and Mohammad Rafiq, residents of Mohib Banda. Police also recovered 2789 grams of hashish and 120 grams of ice from them.  

Meanwhile, cases have been lodged against the criminals in the concerned police station and investigations are underway
