Peshawar - Capital City Police on Saturday foiled a weapon smuggling bid and arrested two traffickers while a robbers’ gang was busted in another operation.
An official of the Peshawar Police said that on the directives of CCPO Ijaz Khan and SSP Operation Haroor Rasheed, the cops conducted raids in several areas of the provincial capital.
The personnel of Gulbahar Police Station arrested two men, who were smuggling 19 pistols and other weapon parts to Punjab via Nowshera district. The accused were identified as Fazal Rehman and Kamran, residents of Nowshera.
In another case, the personnel of Chamkani Police Station arrested one Zeeshan in robber cases. The arrestee confessed involvement in cases of robberies committed via taxicab in which he along with his accomplices would rob passengers. The arrestee also surrendered Rs50,000 stolen cash amount.
