KARACHI –An injured member of extortion mafia managed to flee from police custody after treatment at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital on Thursday.
Two alleged gangsters were wounded while throwing a cracker at the hospital over non-payment of protection money within the remits of Gulberg police station on Wednesday. Culprits riding a car reached near Rahim Hospital to throw the bomb there when the blast occurred mistakenly that wounded them.
Both culprits including Rizwan Baloch affiliated with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Salman Baloch associated with Mutahida Quami Movement (MQM) were rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment. Police sources said that Rizwan was critically wounded while Salman who lost his ear managed to flee after initial treatment. Bomb disposal experts and other investigation officers pointed out that the bomb was placed in dashboard of the car. Police sources said that a police party was trying to arrest Salman and was conducting various raids in different areas of Kati Pahari.
