Minister claims power cuts reduced considerably

HAFIZABAD - Federal Minister Liaqat Abbas Bhatti declared that the present coalition government was committed to resolve the problems of the masses.
While addressing a gathering here, he said that due to various steps taken by the federal government the duration of loadshedding had been reduced to provide relief to the common man and also to the growers to facilitate them to plant paddy crop.
He said that peaceful protest against outage was natural and right of every person but the PML-N was inciting the public to indulge in lawlessness, which, he said was deplorable.
He assured the gathering that the duration of outage would be further decreased.
YOUTH COMMITS SUICIDE: A young villager in Madhora Kalan has committed suicide due to poverty.According to police source a 22 year old Afzal has committed suicide by swallowing wheat preservative tablets following quarrel with his parents when they refused to pay him some amount being penniless.
140 profiteers fined: As many as 140 profiteers were challaned and a total of Rs1,19,800 fine was realized from them by special price magistrates during July, said the DCO here.
He said that the administration here was committed to provide essentials at Ramazan bazaars and markets at cheapest possible rates and the SPMs had been directed to ensure availability of edibles at reasonable rates.
He said that during the 1st 8 days of August, 46 profiteers have been imposed fined of Rs32,500 and two profiteers were booked for violating Essential Commodities Price Control Act.
He further said that 27,351 bags of wheat flour and 59,200 kgs of subsidized sugar had been sold at Ramazan bazaars in the district.
