Christmas preparations start in twin cities



ISLAMABAD – With the advent of December, Christian community has kicked off their preparations to celebrate the most important festival of the year ‘Christmas’s across the world including Pakistan.
With every passing day till the eve of Christmas, they prepare to celebrate the festivity with more enthusiasm, feeling the echo of church bells that announce the birth of Jesus. While preparing for Christmas, the Christian minority living in Pakistan renew their spirit of celebrating Christmas which continues throughout the month.
Talking to APP, Dr Paul Bhatti, Minister In-charge National Harmony, said the government has taken special security measures through Ministry of Interior to provide security to the Churches while the main Churches will also be decorated and a grand function will be held to celebrate Christmas officially. The government through the Ministry of National Harmony and provincial departments will also distribute funds and gifts among the deserving class of Christian community across the country, he said.
The Christmas tree is usually decked with different ornaments including baubles, small bells painted gold or silver, stars of different shapes and sizes, pine cones, apples, candies, tinsel and balloons made from glass, metal, wood and ceramic.
Christmas is one of the biggest celebrations for the people belonging to the Christian faith. With the world becoming a global village, the spirit of Christmas crosses borders and people can see how enthusiastically the festival is celebrated at different places.
