LAHORE - PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reached Lahore on Thursday and had a meeting with party leaders at Bilawal House.
Bilawal discussed the party’s organisation matters with Punjab general secretary Syed Hasan Murtaza and party’s runner-up candidate in the recently held by-election in Lahore Aslam Gill.
Hasan Murtaza briefed the PPP chief about the party organisation and latest political situation in Punjab. He also put forward suggestions to strengthen the party in Punjab province. In his meeting with Aslam Gill, Bilawal Bhutto lauded his performance in the recent by-election in Lahore.
Bilawal’s Lahore visit comes at the heels of PPP-P president Asif Ali Zardari’s visit to the city during the first two days of the current week. Zardari attended a ceremony held to celebrate the ‘impressive performance’ of party ticket-holder Aslam Gill in the Lahore bye-election. In his speech on that occasion, Zardari hit out at the PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif as he chided him for staying abroad and carving out electoral constituencies of his choice in Punjab.
