Pak hockey team off to Dhaka for Men’s Asian Champions Trophy

LAHORE - Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti on Thursday saw off the Pakistan hockey team with best wishes to participate in Men’s Asian Champions Trophy to be played in Dhaka, Bangladesh from Dec 14 to 22, 2021. Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan, PHF Secretary Asif Bajwa and other members of team management were also present on this occasion. The members of the national hockey team also had a meeting with the Minister. Rai Taimoor urged the players to utilize all their energies to win a gold medal for Pakistan. “The entire nation is praying for the success of the national team in Asian Champions Trophy,” he said and added: “We are going to establish a modern Hockey High Performance Center in near future. The model of which has been finalized and Punjab CM Usman Buzdar will inaugurate this unique facility soon. Besides this, we are also going to organize a Hockey League in Punjab.” PHF Secretary Asif Bajwa lauded Punjab govt and SBP for their endeavours for promotion of hockey in the province.
