Siraj slams Sharifs

LAHORE -  Jamaat-i-Islami Chief  Senator Sirajul Haq  has said that the attitude of ridiculing the judiciary and obstructing the process of accountability is totally undemocratic.

In a statement issued from JI head-office Mansora on Friday, he said that the corrupt elements refusing to accept the judiciary’s supremacy were playing with the country’s future only to escape the law grip of the law. He said if the supremacy of the judiciary was not accepted and the institutions were not allowed to work freely, the country would plunge into anarchy and chaos.

He however added that the corruption mafia would not be able to digest their unlawful wealth as the nation fully stood behind the judiciary and the state institutions.

Sirajul Haq said that the amnesty schemes were announced only to protect the unlawful income of the corrupt.

He said that a deaf, dumb and blind system prevailed in the country and the ruling elite was maligning the institutions to maintain the status quo. He said the masses had been overjoyed with the beginning of the accountability of the big plunderers. However, rulers  believing themselves over and above the law were trying their level best  to make the institutions controversial.

The JI chief said the masses rightly considered the ruling elite responsible for all their problems. He said the present rulers considered themselves Moghal princes but they were more worse  than the Moghals because the Moghal  had build their palaces within their empire but the present rulers had built palaces in London and Dubai.

The JI chief exhorted the masses to rise against the present oppressive system as this was also the dictate of their religion. He said that whoever was supporting the system of oppression and tyranny should review his attitude. He noted that Imam Husain had sacrificed  his entire family including 72 holy personalities and small children at Karbala but had refused to accept Yazid as a lawful ruler.  He said the battle of the truth and falsehood would continue till the doomsday and only those would be the successful who upheld the banner of truth and righteousness.

Sirajul Haq said that Allah Almighty had blessed Pakistan with unlimited resources of men and material but the corrupt and selfish rulers had not properly utilized these resources. Instead of spending these resources on the welfare of the masses, the rulers had been amassing wealth and building their empires and bank balances. Along with that, the rulers had made the country a slave of the IMF and the nation had to pay huge amounts in interest.

He said, had the distribution of wealth been fair and just, the masses would not have facing the problems of disease, illiteracy and unemployment.

He said in the current situation, it had become imperative to bring the five hundred billion dollars of the nation lying abroad back to the country so that this amount could be spent on public uplift.
