RAWALPINDI - Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) President Syed Mashadi Mashadi has said that the government is not making serious efforts to resolve the tax reforms and other tax issues including SRO 608 despite commitment and promises.
He said that almost two months ago, on the assurance of Chief Minister Punjab, business community had postponed its countrywide strike but no commitment was honored so far. He said that a RCCI’s regular meeting of business community of the country will be held on February 9, 2015 to discuss all the issues. “If in the said conference leaders of the business community opt for strike then government cannot stop it,” he said and urged the government to resolve all the issues as committed with the traders.
Syed Asad Mushadi was exchanging these views with the traders in a meeting held here at Chamber on Friday. Senior Vice President Mian Humayun Parvez, vice president Saboor Malik and other members of the chamber were also present on the occasion.
Asad Mashadi said that after CM Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif’s assurance business community postponed their countrywide shutter down and it was decided that Hamza Shahbaz that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar would hold a meeting with the business community but after two months Ishaq Dar was not responding on the issue. He said that businessmen were receiving notices under said SRO which was creating panic among the community. He said that if government did not address the issue on table then it would be resolved on roads. He was of the view that business community was on the verge of their patience and would not accept any offer but withdrawal of SRO 608.
