Balochistan neither was, nor will be N’s stronghold: Shah

FAISALABAD-Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah on Tuesday declared that Balochistan neither has been the PML-N’s stronghold in the past, and nor will it be in the future.
Talking to the media persons here on Tuesday, Khurshid Shah maintained that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has no alliance with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and rather both the parties are together just to seek justice for the victims of Model Town incident.
About the PPP’s alliance with Tahirul Qadri, he said that his party has demanded justice for Model Town incident victims from day one.
Lashing out at former military dictators, the PPP stalwart said that Ziaul Haq created militants by opening Afghan border and Pervez Musharraf destroyed the country. He said that America does not want Pakistan to make progress, “but we should not let our foreign policy be affected by that.
Commenting on repeated US criticism, Shah said that Pakistan would not take anyone’s dictation on its foreign policy. He, however, said that Pakistan needs to tread carefully in its engagement with the US.
He said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) wants no confrontation with the US but only an independent foreign policy. Even in the US, there is a huge lobby which opposes US President Donald Trump’s position on Pakistan, Shah added.
The PPP leader regretted that the government failed to appoint a foreign minister for four years before appointing Khawaja Asif.
The leader of Opposition in the NA said the elections should be held as per the law and Constitution, adding that Senate elections would be held according to the schedule.
Talking about PTI Chief Imran Khan’s third wedding, the opposition leader said it is his right whether he performs three marriages or four.
