Farooq claims PML-N to sweep AJK polls

AHMEDPUR EAST-PML-N Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Raja Farooq Haider Khan said that the general elections in AJK will be held on 21st while his party will sweep the polls.
He was talking to PML-N Punjab Additional Secretary Information Siddique Asim on telephone the other day. He said that AJK comprises on three divisions and ten districts while AJK Assembly consists of 49 seats out of which 41 members elected on adult franchise basis. He said that 29 seats are for local inhabitants while twelve seats have been fixed for refugees who choose their representatives.
To a question, he said that out of eight reserved seats, five are allocated for women, one for Ulema, one for technocrats and one for overseas Kashmiris.
The former premier claimed that majority of AJK people have confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and they will elect PML-N nominees with thumping majority.
TRADE UNION ELECTIONS: PML-N leader and Markazi Anuman-e-Tajran President Mian Muhammad Younas said that more than 26 trade unions elections will be held in near future which could not be conducted due to Ramazan. Addressing a press conference, he said that 30 trading union elections had been completed before Ramazan. Each trading union is a member of Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajran and 56 newly elected presidents of trade unions will elect the president of the Anjuman.
TBA: A delegation of Tehsil Bar Association (TBA) would meet LHC Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah next week in Lahore to present the long standing demand of the construction of new judicial complex in Ahmedpur East.
Talking to media here on Saturday, TBA President Sardar Nazar Hussain Aslam informed that the former LHC Chief Justice had also released a grant of Rs2500,000 on his demand for the renovation of bar room.
To a question, he said that Bahawalpur District and Sessions Judge approved Rs7100,000 for the construction of boundary walls around the court premises. “The boundary wall has yet been completed while a new motorbike and car stand and a canteen would be built in the court premises,” he informed.
