Hanif Abbasi assures support for snooker uplift

ISLAMABAD - M Hanif Abbasi has offered his all-out support for the promotion of snooker across the country and especially in Rawalpindi.

Hanif expressed these views while inaugurating Shender 41 Snooker Club Academy. Former MPA Zia Ullah Shah, former world snooker champion M Yousaf, ex-national champion Shahram Changazi, national champion Babar Masih, Islamabad Billiard and Snooker Association (IBSA) secretary M Faheem Anwar Khan and others were also present on the occasion while former Test cricketer M Wasim was invited as special guest.  He lauded Shender 41 owner Saleem Akhtar and Dr Amir Khan for providing excellent facilities at their club and establishing snooker academy. “I hope the academy will provide youth of the city better chances to excel at national and international level.”

He also lauded national champion Babar Masih for winning the national snooker championship in Karachi and promised to provide him government job as soon as possible.  Club owner Saleem Akhtar announced to host the Punjab Chief Minister Snooker Tournament carrying Rs0.25million as prize money in the third week of this month.
