PML-N planning welcome as if Nawaz, Maryam won World Cup: Imran

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supporters were organising a welcome for ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz as if they were returning home ‘after winning the World Cup.’

Addressing a public gathering at Basham, the PTI chairman criticised the PML-N supporters, who are making preparations to welcome the former prime minister and his daughter on their return to Pakistan on Friday (July 13).

The cricketer-turned politician added that they will not let their return to the country be ‘pleasant’ as both Nawaz and Maryam are guilty of stealing more than Rs300 billion from the people of Pakistan.

“If those harming the country are roaming free and are sent to the assemblies, then why should the small-time crooks be sent to jail,” said the PTI chairman.

Imran labelled former president Asif Ali Zardari as the ‘Godfather of dacoits’ and said that both Nawaz and Zardari are involved with each other and help each other during hard times.

“If Nawaz is caught in rigging, then Zardari steps in to help him out,” the PTI chairman added. He further said that a huge money laundering case has been opened against Zardari. “I have been waiting to get to both of these crooks,” Imran said.
