Ahsan Khan eulogizes late philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi through heartfelt poetry

Legendary philanthropist and social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi remembered on his fifth death anniversary on Thursday and glowing homages were being paid to his services. The iconic humanitarian passed away five years ago and is still remembered by people across the country. One such person to pay homage to him was famous actor Ahsan Khan, who eulogized the legend by writing heartfelt poetry for him.

The actor took to his Instagram to praise Edhi's selflessness and generosity.

"There was only one such man among us," recited Khan in a video. "There will never be another like you in years to come."

He went on to say that people should learn philanthropy from Edhi.

"To have access to millions of dollars, and still only own two changes of clothing, and the same cramped apartment in the same cramped part of the city. To start with a single van in which he carried corpses, no matter their level of degradation. And to build the world’s largest volunteer ambulance service purely on the weight of reputation alone," he wrote.

"We love you Edhi sahab. Humanity first," he concluded.

Five years after his death, he is remembered through a loving name given to him by the people – Baba-e-Khidmat – for his noble and gentle disposition and his altruism which readily extended a helping hand to many.
