Four die in different incidents in Faisalabad

One poisoned to death, other killed in old rivalry and two persons end their lives

FAISALABAD - Four persons were killed in separate incidents in different areas of Faisalabad. According to details, in the first incident, a woman allegedly poisoned her husband Shahid Mukhtar to death in Mansoorabad police limits on Wednesday. The couple married about two years ago, but apparently did not like each other.  On the day of incident, Shahid Mukhtar resident of Sadar Bazaar Mansoorabad had an altercation with his wife Madiha over domestic dispute. She holds grudge against him and as soon as she got a chance, she mixed poison in her husband’s food and served him. After a while, his condition became critical and he was shifted to a hospital where he expired. The police took the body into custody and started investigation. In second incident, three people, including two girls, ended their lives over domestic disputes on Wednesday. 

A police spokesman said that Fazilat Bibi of Chak No 435-GB took her own life over a domestic dispute. Meanwhile Saima wife of Ali Akbar of Chak No 281-GB swallowed poison over domestic issues. They were shifted to a hospital where they died. In the third incident, a man was shot dead over an old rivalry in the area of Nishatabad police station on Wednesday. A police spokesman said, Ahad Ehsan of Chak No 7-JB Kareem City was travelling on a bike when his rivals Zulfiqar etc opened firing on him near Bawa Chak on Saim Road. As a result, Ahad received serious bullet injuries and died in the hospital while the accused fled.

Man shot dead in Sargodha

A man was killed in a firing incident in Satellite town police limits here. Police said on Wednesday that Sheikh Muhammad Suleman, resident of D-block satellite town was going to market on a bike when three unknown armed persons opened indiscriminate firing at him near block-A killing him on-the-spot. Police handed over the body to the heirs after postmortem. The deceased was a father of two children. The incident was stated to be result of an old enmity. Police registered a case against the accused and started investigation.

356,651 people vaccinated against corona

As many as 356,651 people have so far been vaccinated against the COVID-19 in the district. 

District Health Officer Dr Ataul Mun’im said on Wednesday that 265,718 people had been given the first dose while 57,778 were administered second dose. He said 20,332 health workers were also given first dose while 12,823 received second dose of vaccine, adding that sufficient stock of vaccine was available in the district.
