PHC Chief Justice Qaiser Rasheed heard the case, filed by the Chief Minister through Naumanul Haq Kakakhel advocate.
The Chief Minister appeared in the court while the lawyer did not appear in the court due to the ongoing protest, being observed by both the lawyers and civil servants in the wake of an altercation between an advocate and an additional assistant commissioner.
The Chief Minister said in his appeal that he is a leader of a political party and attended the long march of the party peacefully. However, he said the Tarnol Police Station booked him in an FIR, which he termed an attempt of political victimisation.
He said that even Supreme Court had allowed them peaceful demonstration but still FIRs were lodged against the PTI leaders. He said that he appealed to the court for transit bail because he thought he might be arrested on his way to the federal capital.
The court granted him transit bail till July 2 against two sureties of Rs50,000.
