LAHORE - Lahore High Court Chief Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed on Friday said there were big challenges in the way of provincial courts as 80 to 85 per cent cases of the country had been pending here.
The CJ said problems were persisting owing to the negligence on their own part and now the time had come to resolve all issues the legal fraternity had been facing.
He expressed these views while addressing the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected officerbearers of Lahore Bar Association (LBA) held at Al-Hamra Hall. The Chief Justice said the legal fraternity had been facing many problems that were the same as before 25 years ago but with commitment and unity they will overcome all the problems. The courts had been located at different parts of the city and it was really big issue that disturbed the lawyers as well as the masses who come to the courts for justice.
He vowed to resolve the issue soon with the construction of judicial complex II, he added. Senior judges of high court, sessions court and lawyers were present on the occasion. Lahore Bar Association President Zulfiqar Chaudhry pointed out problems of the legal community in front of the Chief Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and requested to resolve them immediately.
