AHMEDPUR EAST - Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) Punjab President Makhdoom Syed Ahmed Mehmood called on Bahawalpur National Awami Party (BNAP) Quaid Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi at his residence Sadiq Garh Palace Dera Nawab on Friday.
BNAP sources informed the media that both the leaders held one-to-one meeting which lasted more than one hour in which they discussed prevailing political situation and Bahawalpur province movement.
Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi greeted Makhdoom Ahmed on the victory of his son in the by-election of NA seat in district Rahim Yar Khan. Political circles are giving much importance to this meeting as both Nawab Abbasi and Makhdoom are main leaders of Bahawalpur province movement. These circles opined that a joint front of all pro-Bahawalpur province political parties and groups would be formed in Bahawalpur region in near future so a strategy be evolved to field powerful candidates in the all three districts Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar and Bahawalpur in forthcoming general elections.
Commissioner moved: National Awami Party (BNAP) central leader and former Municipal Committee chairman Mian Muhammad Ilyas Ayaz called on Commissioner Muhammad Khan Khichhi in his office and drew his attention towards worsening situation of the road leads from Qainchi Mor to Chowk Fatani Road where ‘faulty’ sewage line was laid down two years ago. He informed the Commissioner that filthy water is flowing in the streets and adjacent areas which had made the lives of hundreds of citizens miserable.
Ex-councillor Jan Mohammad Qureshi told the Divisional Commissioner that Tehsil Municipal Administration Ahmedpur East had devised a plan of the approval of Rs2.9 million for the lying of 1800-feet new sewage line in the area. Commissioner heard both the visitors and directed the DCO to take necessary measures for the redressal of public grievances.
