KARACHI - Two persons including a police informer were gunned down in the limits of Sohrab Goth police on Friday.
The incident took place at Faqira Goth where two armed riders opened indiscriminate fire on Muzamil, 35, and pushcart vendor Muhammad Aslam. Resultantly, they received fatal bullet wounds while Aslam died on spot. Later, both victims were shifted to private hospital where Muzamil also succumbed to injuries.
Police shifted both the bodies to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy.
DSP Ijaz Rajpur confirmed that the deceased Muzamil was police informer and added that police had arrested the accused Imran and his accomplice over the charge of his murder. He said the detained Imran, who was arrested on the information of Muzamil, had threatened him of dire consequences after his release from the jail. To a question, he said, victim Muzamil was the prime target of the armed riders, however, the juice vendor came in the range.
The victim Aslam and Muzamil were the residents of the same area where incident took place while the deceased Aslam hailed from Southern Punjab.
