Sports vital for students character building


CHENABNAGAR - 65th annual prize distribution ceremony was held at Govt TI College, to honour students who brought laurels to the academic institution in various sports events.
Ch Masood Iqbal, Chief Executive Iqbal Rice Mills, while speaking as chief guest on the occasion, stressed on the significance of sports in the development of an individual’s overall healthy personality.
He remained student of this college 38 years ago and then zoomed to horizon in business arena by getting consecutive awards of largest exporter of rice. He announced Rs100,000 for sports goods and pledged to bear all the cost of renovation of college mosque.
DCO Chiniot Dr Irshad Ahmad was also present on the occasion. DCO ordered to repair/rebuild College Road from Govt TI High School to Tanki Pahari of Darul Nasr Gharbi.
The Fesco XEN Ch Yaqoob announced that electricity of New Campus will be restored by installation of already approved 25 KW transformer. EDO Agriculture Dr Zakria, Xen Building Ch Farooq, President Chiniot Bar Association Syed Sabir Hussain Shah, Islamia College Chiniot Principal Mahr Zulfikar, Govt Jamia Nusrat College Chenabnagar Principal Madam Salma Shahid, Govt College for Degree Principal Madam Nasira Lalian, Ch Jahangir Govt TI College Principal Professor Waqar Hussain, former Assistant Director (I&MD), ex-Deputy Secretary (OPS) Environment, Mubashar Ahmad Cheema and other prominent journalists were also present on the occasion.   Annual Sports Winner, Chief Minister Sports and Literary Competition were given prizes by various notables to encourage their efforts and with a purpose to motivate them to become notables.
