Ahsan Iqbal hits back at CJP's remarks asking 'is judiciary a political party'

The Federal Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal hit back at Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar for his remarks against Punjab government, stating it is for the people of Punjab to judge performance of the provincial government.

On his twitter account, the minister questioned that how the chief justice can make such statements right before the elections.

"Is judiciary a political party?" asked the minister.

Ahsan Iqbal further said that Imran Khan and Asif Zardari can make such statements as they are politicians.

"Politicization of judiciary will be our collective loss." he concluded.

Earlier, during the hearing of case regarding setting up of water treatment plant, the chief justice slammed the Punjab government for not taking steps against sewerage being drained into River Chenab and Ravi.
