GILGIT - The lawmakers of Gilgit Baltistan Assembly on Tuesday unanimously passed a resolution to grant GB the status of an interim province of Pakistan.  The resolution was read in the assembly during the third session of the GB Assembly which was chaired by Deputy Speaker Nazir Ahmad Advocate. The resolution was jointly tabled by GB Cheif Minister Khalid Khursheed from Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI), the opposition leader Amjad Hussain Advocate from Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Ghulam Muhammad from Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), Rehmat Khalid from Jamait Ulma-e-Islam (JUI) and others. The resolution said Gilgit Baltistan should be given the status of an intern constitutional province and representation in the National Assembly, Senate of Pakistan and other federal institutions of Pakistan. They also demanded to file a bill in parliament of Pakistan for amendment in the law of Pakistan.
