ISLAMABAD - In a surprising development ruling PTI’s MQM leader Khalid Maqbool Sidiqui would hold an important meeting with former president Asif Ali Zardari in the federal capital today. Highly credible sources said it was PPP which invited Siddiqui for the meeting to seek his party’s cooperation on the no-confidence motion moved against the prime minister. Senior leaders from both sides spoke to each other yesterday and decided that since Asif Ali Zardari is in Islamabad, the meeting with Khalid Maqbool Siddique would take place here. It would be a one-on-one meeting between Khalid Maqbool Sidiqui and Asif Ali Zardari, Osama Qadri MQM MNA told The Nation on phone from Karachi. The meeting would be taking place only a day after the MQM meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan in Karachi. The sources said the prevailing political situation and no-confidence motion against the PM would come under discussion. Qadri said there is nothing surprising in the meeting as political parties always keep their doors open for talks.
