46 more dengue patients admitted in 3 Rawalpindi hospitals

Rawalpindi-As many as 46 more dengue patients were admitted in in three allied hospitals on Saturday taking the tally 488.   
Similarly, 14 dengue patients from Islamabad also arrived in three government-run hospitals including Holy Family Hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital and District Headquarters Hospital.   
According to the data of Punjab government, 15 patients arrived from Rawalpindi Cantonment Board area, one from Chaklala Cantonment area, seven from city area, four from Potohar Town and remaining came from other parts of the district.  Abdul Amir, a resident, said that the district administration failed to launch any fumigation campaign in the area of Raja Bazaar and there was no visit of the team in last three weeks.   Bilal Hussain, a resident of Adiala Road, said that no team of health department visited in the area. He said that two people affected with high fever but district administration turned blind eye on them.   
“There is no team of cantonment board working in Allahabad and adjoining area. The sanitation branch of RCB failed to lift the garbage dumped along main graveyard which became breeding point for the mosquitoes and other insects,” said Jamil Khan Bangash, a resident of Allahabad, Westridge. Fahad Bashir, a resident of Chakra, said that there was dire need to spray anti-dengue medicines in and around the nullah and area adjacent to Bhatta Chowk but cantonment authorities failed to pay attention.  A senior officer of district administration told media that the anti-dengue campaign was launched in the district and found dengue larvae in many places of cantonment and city areas.
