Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari on Thursday has said that effective legislation is on cards to protect women from domestic violence and ensure children's rights.

Addressing a seminar on gender equality in Islamabad today, the minister said Pakistan's human rights track record is far better than many other countries. 

She said the minorities are being given their rights whilst steps have also been taken for the welfare of transgenders.
