PML-N ruined Punjab, PPP Sindh: Tareen

| Says no grouping in PTI | Intra-party elections soon

KARACHI - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) general sectary Jahangir Tareen has said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is ruining Punjab while Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is guilty of Sindh’s destruction and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is responsible for tearing down the Karachi.

He expressed these views while addressing workers convention held at a local hotel here on Wednesday. PTI leaders including Imran Ismail, Dr Arif Alivi, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, advocate Naeem Bukhari, Najeeb Haroon, Riaz Sheikh and others also addressed the workers.

Jahangir said party leadership would not tolerate formation of any groups in the party ranks and if it happened the party would eliminate such elements. He directed the workers to get themselves ready for the general elections to be held in year 2018 terming it a grand battle for the change in the country.

He said party voters were present in every corner of the country and party had decided to field its candidates on every seat in next general elections. He said the rulers were looting the country and PTI Chairman Imran Khan was the only leader who could steer the country out of crisis.

He said the party had given tough time to corrupt rulers in Punjab and the workers should get ready for the movement being carried out against the corrupt rulers and party had decided to take out rallies in various parts of Sindh province also.

During the workers convention, massive mismanagement was witnessed as PTI workers chanted slogans against Dr Arif Alvi. They demanded the party leadership to restore PTI former Sindh chief Nadar Akmal Laghari on its slot.

Earlier, talking to mediamen at Karachi international airport, Jahangir said party was protesting against corruption. “We have not put prime minister’s name in Panama leaks, however, the international investigation institutions made the facts public,” said PTI leader, adding, that party wanted investigation into Panama leaks immediately and later action against the tax evaders.

Terming the Quetta bombing a national tragedy, the PTI leader said that terrorists had attacked the country’s integrity and party would extend unconditional support to the government for the elimination of terrorism from the county but it would not halt the movement against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Talking about the efforts of newly-elected Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, he said new CM could not bring change in weeks. “Hard work is required to eliminate corruption and put the institutions on the right path. PPP should eliminate corruption from its ranks as only these bold steps can bring change,” he added.

To a query about grouping in PTI, party general sectary rejected the impression saying that there was no such obsession existed in the ranks and Shah Mehmood Qureshi along with other party leaders were keen to accomplish party agenda. He said Imran Ismail was party’s senior leader and PTI leadership had always given respect to the senior leaders. He further told mediamen that party would soon hold the intra-party elections while his Karachi visit was to take the workers in confidence. Efforts were underway to improve the organizational matters of the party and PTI Karachi chapter would take part in the PTI movement against corrupt rulers.

He said government was imposing taxes on the public instead of launching a crackdown against corruption. Initially the Panama leaks issue should be resolved and later the action should be conducted against the tax evaders.
