Man, son die in accident; young man electrocuted in Sargodha

SARGODHA - A man and his son were killed in an accident here on Tuesday.

According to the Rescue 1122, 38-year-old Aftab Maseeh with his four-year-old son Shan was travelling on a motorcycle on Sargodha-Khushab road when a rashly driven dumper hit it near Aziz Bhatti Town. As a result, both died on the spot. The Rescue 1122 shifted the bodies to a local hospital.

Meanwhile, in another incident a young man was electrocuted in the limits of Phularwan police station, here on Tuesday. Police said, one Muhammad Hamza of Phularwan was busy in electric work at his home when he suffered a severe electric shock. He was shifted to a nearby hospital where he breathed his last. Police handed over the body to his family after fulfilling legal requirements.

3 held, narcotics recovered

Police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered narcotics from their possession. A team of Sahiwal police station conducted a raid in its jurisdiction and arrested Riaz, Wajid Mehmood and Ijaz and recovered 2.160-kg hashish and 90 liters liquor from them. A case has been registered against the accused.

Meanwhile, Sargodha Commissioner Dr Farah Masood on Tuesday chaired the divisional environmental committee meeting in which 11 cases of petrol pumps and six cases of poultry were presented for approval.  

The cases presented by the poultry included two cases of Sargodha, Mianwali and Bhakkar district, while the cases of petrol pumps include two cases of Sargodha, two cases of Mianwali, four cases of Khushab and three cases of Bhakkar district. 

In the meeting, Assistant Commissioner General Ghazala Yaseen, Assistant Director Environment Ali Imran and environmentalist Dr Ghulam Sarwar were also present.
