Villagers foiled an attempt to take away electric cables which the alleged thieves had removed from different electric poles near Chak 164/GB here the other night.
As per details, armed villagers rushed to the scene when they knew that cables had been removed by the thieves. As soon as villagers fired on the culprits they fled the scene by their two vehicles and left away the cables behind.
Later, removed cables were handed over to the Fesco staff.
