Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday has said overseas Pakistanis can bring only one cell phone with them to Pakistan and there will be no tax on it, however, they will have to pay tax on additional cell phones.

He said in a statement on Twitter “ we are importing mobile phones valuing 2 billion dollars and if we don’t impose a tax on them then how will we run.

He said that tax on mobile cell valuing below 60 dollars is equal to nothing, however, 38 per cent tax has been slapped on costly mobile phones. What will be more appropriate taxation than this? Tax culture will have to be adopted, he added.
