Nisar says can’t work under Maryam Nawaz

Warns to make Dawn leaks report public if CEC not convened to resolve issue

RAWALPINDI - Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has warned he will make the Dawn leaks report public if the party leadership does not convene the central executive committee meeting to hammer out a strategy to cope with the sensitive issue.

“The Dawn leaks issue is not exclusively related to PML-N; rather it is a matter of very sensitive nature,” Nisar said, talking to media persons in Taxila Saturday.

He condemned Pervaiz Rasheed’s statement against him and said he would respond to him in front of the party’s special committee.

“I have written a letter to Nawaz Sharif, asking him to constitute a committee on the Dawn leaks to enable me to give my version or permit me to explain my position publicly,” he affirmed.

He criticised some media channels without mentioning any name for misquoting him. He said some politicised media channels are targeting institutions, asking them to furnish information only and not to become a judge.

Nisar said he had distanced himself from the party’s internal matters because he could not work under the command of Maryam Nawaz. He made it clear that he would not work under any junior leader, particularly Maryam Nawaz.

Nisar said he is often questioned whether he would be able to run the party matters under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz. “My answer is that I can’t follow directions from Maryam Nawaz. “I am not a politician who adopts a double-faced policy. I can deal with political affairs of PML-N, following the guidelines of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif, but not their siblings,” Nisar said.

He said he never violated the party discipline, but there were some issues within PML-N that disheartened him, so he preferred to stay away. Nisar said he played a role of the critic of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif.

Nisar said he had given suggestions to the party leadership on all the core issues, while his suggestions to the party regarding Panama leaks are on record.

The former interior minister expressed his deep concerns and reservations over the way the party is being run. He rejected rumours of forming any forward bloc within the party.

NAWAZ IS RUNNING THE PARTY: MUSHAHIDULLAH

INP adds: Federal Minister for Climate Change Mushahidullah Khan has said that Nawaz Sharif is the president of PML-N and he is running the party.

Reacting to the presser of former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, the minister said that no Muslim Leaguer was working under Maryam Nawaz.

He said it is good that Chaudhry Nisar has trust in Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif and accepts to work under their leadership. He said difference of opinion was beauty of the democracy.

Mushahidullah said PML-N can win 35 seats in Senate elections and can conditionally support Raza Rabbani for Senate chairmanship.

He said the PML-N will further bring mega development projects in Karachi and other cities like Punjab if it comes into power in upcoming general elections.

He said that it was time that those who were trying to hide behind the Panama issue, should stop deceiving the people and start acknowledging the development works undertaken by the PML-N government.
