Peshawar - The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Wednesday approved 38 schemes, pertaining to health, education, auqaf, minority affairs, social welfare, urban development, sports & tourism, multi-sectoral development, industries, and justice sectors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with an estimated cost of Rs16461.928 million. 

The approval was given in the PDWP meeting held under the chairmanship of Shakeel Qadir, the Additional Chief Secretary P&D Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, through video link. The meeting was attended by members of PDWP and concerned departments. The forum considered 40 schemes pertaining to higher education, auqaf, hajj, & minority affairs, social welfare, roads, local government, urban development, sports & tourism, multi sectoral development, industries, health and law & justice sectors for the uplift of the province.  

The forum approved 38 schemes while 02 schemes were deferred due to inadequate designs and were returned to the respective department for rectification. 

According to the details, the schemes approved are as under: 

Higher Education: Up-gradation of Abdul Wali Khan Campus at Buner to a full fledge university. 

Higher Education: Up-gradation of existing university campuses to a full fledge university (including land cost) at Chitral. 

Auqaf, Hajj, & Minority Affairs: Construction of 60 class rooms at Darul Uloom Islamia including hall and library at Aza Khel Bala Nowshera.  

Auqaf, Hajj, & Minority Affairs: Rehabilitation of Hindu Samadhi at the Tehsil Banda Daud Shah. 

Social Welfare: Establishment of schools for visually impaired in district Mohmand and Khyber, and hearing impaired in district South Waziristan, Bajaur, & Kurram (AIP). 

Social Welfare: Functionalisation of the existing 105 Dastkari Centres in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 

Social Welfare: F/S for construction of special education complexes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 

Social Welfare: Extension of Prime Minister EHSAS Programme to merged areas (AIP). 

Roads: F/S and design of projects of various roads. Sub-Scheme: 20675-8-feasibility study design & construction of 02-Nos of Fly Overs in district D.I. Khan. 

Roads: Dualisation of Bannu Miran Shah Road (61-km). 

Roads: Construction/rehabilitation/ BT of roads in UCs, Sakhra, Chuprial, Gwaleraiand, Asharay, District Swat. 

Roads   Const: Road Kacha (a) Planr Basi Khel (b)Seri Kandao-Gigiani Basi Khel, (c) Mori Basi Khel, (d) Shatal-Karizan Saidan, (e) Pakbund-Mori Nusrat Khel, (f) Cherah Basi Khel, (g) Mera Mada Khel-Qabristan, (h) Guizer paty-TT Madakhel, (i) Shahbat Madrasa, Mera Mada Khel, Torghar. 

LG & RDD Special Development Package for UCs Shodag, Harichand, Gandheri, Hisara and Behram Dheri District Charsadda.  

Urban Development: Peshawar uplift programme sub-scheme- 130647-12-Upgradation/Widening of approach road to Bacha Khan international airport, Peshawar. 

Sports & Tourism: Standardisation and up-gradation of sports complexes at D.I. Khan, Bannu, Haripur and Mardan. 

Sports & Tourism: Feasibility Study for establishment of sports stadium at Tehkal Peshawar. 

Sports & Tourism: Feasibility & improvement/construction of Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium Peshawar. 

Sports & Tourism: Innovation fund for entrepreneurs, youth and women. 

Sports & Tourism: Economic uplift of youth (Start-up programme). 

Multi Sectoral Development: Public oolicy and social protection reforms unit. 

Multi Sectoral Development: Special development package, district Torghar (Phase-II). 

Industries: Interest free microfinance schemes (IFMS) for entrepreneurship development in MAs (AIP). 

Industries: KP Women Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Programme (KP WSEDPP) & Readymade Garments Industry. 

Industries: Provision of independent electric feeders at SIEs Peshawar & Mardan. 

Health: F/S for construction of mother & child care hospital at DI Khan. 

Health: F/S for upgradation of DHQ Hospital Haripur into Cat-A Hospital, Haripur. 

Health: F/S for upgradation of Kalam Hospital Swat. 

Health: F/S for upgradation of Civil Hospital Madyan to category-C District Swat. 

Health: F/S for establishment of category-D hospital at Upper Gadoon, Swabi.
