Imran to visit Kasur today

LAHORE - PTI Chairman Imran Khan will visit Kasur on Thursday (today) to meet the family of deceased Zainab who was killed after rape.

According to a statement issued by PTI’s central Punjab President, Aleem Khan, the party chief would also meet the families of Shoaib and Faizan who lost their lives after police firing on the mob attacking the DPO office.

Aleem stated that the incident had proved yet again the incapability and inefficiency of Punjab govt in dealing with the incidents of crime and protest demonstrations.

He said that PTI had decided to take this issue seriously and had directed its local cadres in Kasur to hold protests to pressurise the district administration to arrest the culprits.

He alleged that the present rulers had nothing to do with the lives and properties of the masses as they were interested only in their personal interests.

“Now, Nawaz Sharif is seen nowhere to demand justice for the innocent Zainab of Kasur who lost her life only because of the poor law and order situation”, he observed, adding, that the incident was an open challenge for the so-called good governance of Shehbaz Sharif.

He added that the incident of firing on the protestors had reminded the people of Model Town incident. He believed that the recent Kasur incident would be the last nail in the coffin of the Nawaz league.

Meanwhile, PTI leaders Mehmoodur Rasheed and Ijaz Chaudhry visited Kasur to express sympathies with the family.

Also, PTI MPA Muhammad Shoaib Siddiqui on Wednesday submitted an adjournment motion in the Punjab Assembly on the Kasur incident seeking immediate intervention of the House into the matter.

In his motion, Mr Siddiqui has noted that Punjab govt had totally failed to discharge its duties and there was no law and order in any district of the Punjab.
