NAB Lahore gets helicopter for Nawaz, Maryam

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has been provided a helicopter to transport former premier Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz from Lahore to Islamabad, sources told media.

Sources said, Director General NAB Lahore Shahzad Saleem had written a letter to chairman NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal requestingfor a helicopter to transport Nawaz and Maryam from Allama Iqbal International Airport

Further added,“NAB chairman had forwarded this letter to the caretaker government who then provided the helicopter.”

According to sources, letter read that a rally will be held in Lahore on the arrival of the former premier, which may create difficulties in arresting the father-daughter duo.

Earlier, according to the sources, Director General (DG) National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has sought permission through a letter from Chairman NAB for moving both father and daughter to Adiala jail via helicopter. 

Director General NAB Lahore, Shehzad Saleem, through his letter, requested the NAB chairman to provide helicopter for transferring the two high-profile figures.

The sources further informed that Nawaz and Maryam will be arrested from the airport, adding that the NAB Chairman will contact the Ministries of Interior and Defence for providing a helicopter.
