RAJANPUR
The Jamaat-i-Islami observed the death anniversary of former MNA Dr Nazir Ahmed here the other day. On the occasion, former local JI Ameer Hakeem Allah Yar Rehmani, Dr Hafeez Ahmadani, journalist Abdul Ghafoor Qureshi, former city nazim KR Kamal Akhtar and Maulana Ghulam Qasim paid great tribute to Dr Nazir for his meritorious services.  Dr Nazir Ahmed was killed at his clinic on June 8 1972. Late Dr Nazir had defeated Sir Mohammed Khan Leghari, the father of former president Farooq Leghari, on a National Assembly seat in Dera Ghazi Khan in 1970's general election.
POLICE STATION CATCHES FIRE: The Saddr Police Station caught fire here the other day.
According to detail, a portion of the Saddr Police Station caught fire and many valuables burnt, although the record of police station was saved. The fire-brigade controlled the situation.
