LAHORE: Following the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Punjab Horticulture Authority Director General Mian Shakeel Ahmed Tuesday visited the Aiwan-i-Karkunaan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan and sought details of the projects and the renovation work at Madr-i-Millat Park.
The Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust Secretary Shahid Rashid enunciated the details of the renovation work at the park. Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust Chairman Dr Majid Nizami pointed out the Trust’s certain projects.
Moreover, the erection and location at the Minar-i-Pakistan, of the historical iron gate of the Sectariat which the brave girl Fatima Sughra climbed in order to hoist the Pakistan flag, came under discussion.–Staff Reporter
The transformation of the Madar-i-Millat Park into an ideological and educational park was also discussed.
Shahid Rashid told the PHA DG that the marble slabs had come off at places and needed fixing. The size, design and number of placards displaying the Quaid-i-Azam and Madar-i-Millat’s sayings were to be determined in the subsequent meetings.
Shahid also pointed out the need for two security guards. Merry-go-rounds for the visiting children will also be installed. The Martyrs’ Memorial will be completely renovated. He also conveyed Dr Majid Nizami’s desire to the PHA DG that he wanted to have a more spacious cafeteria hall than the present one. PHA Director General agreed to provide the model of the Quaid-i-Azam’s mausoleum and the map of Pakistan. He also agreed to renovate the model of the Ziarat Residency.
