Hamza Shehbaz, Ayesha Ahad would not issue statements on media: CJP

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar said that Hamza and Ahad would not issue any statements against each other and terms of settlement cannot be shared with the media.

However, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader, Hamza Shehbaz,  and Ayesha Ahad [who claimed to be his wife] have withdrawn the cases they filed against each other.

Ayesha Ahad and Hamza were summoned to the court on Monday over the case filed by the Ahad accusing Hamza of violence, issuing threats to life and encroachment of possessions, including jewellery, a mobile phone and her purse.

Ayesha Ahad had accused that people sent by Hamza who forcefully took her laptop, Nikkah nama (marriage contract), and other documents.

The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, told Hamza Shahbaz that Islamic constitution allowed him to divorce Ayesha Ahad.

Ayesha Ahad told the court that they both had married in 2010 but Hamza rejected the claim of ever being married to Ahad

Then the Chief Justice said that he could play the mediator's role if parties to the case wanted him to.

Moreover, the Chief Justice stopped Hamza’s lawyer, Zahid Hassan Bukhari, and said that he wanted to hear what Hamza and Ahad had to say.

Earlier, on June 10, the Chief Justice had summoned Hamza and Ahad to appear before the apex court.
