BAHAWALPUR - The “cleaning week” in Bahawalpur district ended yesterday under the Punjab government’s “Service at your doorstep” program.
Overall, the performance of Bahawalpur district was excellent. In the beginning of the “cleaning week”, a total of 157,841 activities were uploaded by the district departments. During the week, as many as 392 complaints of cleaning and construction debris were received from citizens across the district out of which 384 complaints were addressed with 98pc result of complaint resolution.
The program “Service at your doorstep” of Punjab government was also appreciated by citizens, and they expressed confidence in timely resolution of their complaints.
Bahawalpur Waste Management Company Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Naeem Akhtar said that during the week-long clean-up, the company undertook an integrated strategy to remove municipal waste and building debris from the city and ensure timely resolution of public complaints.
Informing the media about the performance of the company, he said that the company’s workers were present in the field during the cleaning week, adding that they were uploading pre and post cleaning pictures on a daily basis on the application provided by the Punjab government. “More than 75,000 activities were uploaded through the app,” he said.
“In addition, 90 vehicles of the company remained active in the field in two shifts throughout the week and more than 2,200 tonnes of municipal waste was removed from the city,” he added.
