Meeting with scholars: IGP orders Muharram security steps for Hyderabad range

KARACHI - Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Mushtaq Mahar on Wednesday reviewed Muharram security arrangements for Hyderabad range and ordered security forces to remain ready all times to deal with any untoward situation. A video link meeting was also in this regard which was also attended by DIG Hyderabad, district SSPs, DIG Headquarters Sindh, AIG Operations Sindh, AIG Admin and scholars Prof Nawaz Ali Bhutto, Mirza Siddique Baig, Mehboob Ali Namdar, Dr Barkat Hussain Leghari, Ali Muhammad Shakir, Allama Ijaz Shariati, Maulana Mureed Hussain Marri, Maulana Maqbool Mohseni, Mohib Ali Bhutto, Farhan Pitafi, Abdul Ghafoor Shah, Syed Nadir, Ali Shah, Muhammad Sharif Khawaja, Irshad Ali Kahri, Dr Syed Abdul Hussain Shah, Shabbir Shah, Syed Javed Shah Hussaini, Muzzafar Leghari, Mukhtar Dayo, Syed Fida Hussain Shah Kazmi, Syed Manzoor Ali Shah and Syed Azhar Ali Shah. IGP Sindh said that to implement the contingency plan for Muharram, special focus would be paid on liaison with all relevant stakeholders, Rangers Sindh, other law enforcement agencies and their suggestions and consultations. Mahar said that the implementation of precautionary measures and SOPs formulated by the Sindh government to control the outbreak of COVID-19 during rallies and processions would be strictly ensured. He directed the DIG Hyderabad to keep the officers and policemen ready all times for dealing with any possible emergency and for immediate police response. The delegation comprising Ulema and Zakirs expressed their unanimous confidence in Muharram security matters and measures and assured the police of all possible cooperation.
