Zahir Zakir wanted by UK police in physical assault case

Islamabad-The British Home Department has put on alert all the ports and airports to hunt Zahir Zakir Jaffar (28) wanted in connection with a physical assault case, well-placed sources in Islamabad police disclosed to The Nation on Wednesday.
The search for Zahir Zakir Jaffar, who is languishing in Adiala Jail on charges of beheading Noor Mukaddam (27), daughter of ex-Pakistani diplomat Shaukat Ali Mukaddam in his house at F-7/4 in Islamabad on July 20, 2021, was on by British police after he had physically assaulted a man in 2015, they said. 
A magistrate court dealt with the case against Zahir Zakir Jaffar and granted him bail also. However, the accused had managed to flee to Pakistan in 2015 and never faced court after, they mentioned.
The British Home Office, following a requested moved by magistrate court, had put name of Zahir Zakir Jaffar in black list and had alerted all the ports and airports to arrest him immediately as he lands in the UK.
The British authorities had also made several requests to Pakistani government to help trace the accused, sources claimed.
Meanwhile, the investigators of Homicide Investigation Unit (HIU) of Police Station (PS) Kohsar are all set to grill two friends of Zahir Zakir Jaffar, Noor Mukaddam and Tahir, a worker of Therapy Works, in connection with high profile murder case. 
Likewise, another girl would also be approached by police for questioning who had shared WhatsApp screenshots of Zahir Jaffar, killer of Noor Mukaddam, accusing her of sexually harassing her, sources said. 
The two friends to be grilled by police investigators have been identified as Murad Jamali and Nimra Khan, sources added.
They informed that Nimra Khan was among the two survivors of a fatal car accident on 23/2/2019 in limits of PS Kohsar in which three other girls namely Rimsha, Esha and Hina were killed. The second survivor of car accident was Hamza Akhter.
They were coming from house of Zahir Zakir Jaffar after attending a party and were believed to be drugged when the car they were travelling in fell in a seasonal nullah by breaking walls of a bridge at Parbat Road, sources said adding that Kohsar police had also registered a report number 1/53 with Police Station Record Management System.
Sources also disclosed that Nimra Khan was also present outside house of Zahir Zakir on the day of gruesome murder of Noor Mukaddam.  
“Yes, police will ascertain the role of all the people involved directly or indirectly in the murder case of Noor Mukaddam,” said a senior police officer, who is associated with the high profile murder case, while talking to The Nation.
He said friends of Noor and Zahir who were present at the crime scene are to be interrogated by police as the investigators had also obtained the CCTV footage and other evidences in this regard.
Kohsar police arrested Zahir Zakir Jaffar on charges of beheading Noor Mukaddam during an illegal confinement at his house. Police also rounded up parents – Zakir Jaffar and Asmat Adam Jee – and two servants of alleged killer of daughter of ex-Pakistani diplomat Shaukat Ali Mukaddam, on offences of abetting and hiding crime from police. A court of law had sent Zahir Zakir to Adiala Jail on judicial remand. Meanwhile, another court rejected post-arrest bails of Zakir Jaffar and Asmat Adam Jee.
A private TV channel on Wednesday reported that Noor Mukaddam was raped before murder by Zahir Jaffar while quoting DNA report of Punjab Forensic Science Lab. However, Islamabad police said they had not received DNA report in Noor murder case yet.
