FC man hurt in Charsadda IED blast

PESHAWAR - A Frontier Corps (FC) official sustained injuries when an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by a roadside exploded in Shabqadar area of district Charsadda on Sunday.

Police said a convoy was on its way from Mohmand Agency to Peshawar carrying FC men of Mohmand Rifles. The IED went off with a big bang as the convoy reached Dando Bridge situated on Shabqadar Road.

Resultantly, FC Subidar Najab Ali sustained injuries in the blast. The injured FC official was rushed to a hospital in Peshawar, where he was stated to be in stable condition. One vehicle was partially damaged in the incident.

Soon after the incident, personnel of the FC and police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.

According to DSP Shabqadar Fayaz, 12 suspects were apprehended when police conducted a search operation in Sumanat and Konra Colony. Two Kalashnikovs and a rifle were also recovered from them.
