Triple crowns for Asad, one each for Ahtisham, Natalia in 10th Essa Lab National Tennis

LAHORE    -  Asad Zaman (McDonald’s) completed the hat-trick of titles while Muhammad Ahtesham and Natalia Zaman clinched the U-18 boys and girls titles in the 10th Addition of Essa Lab National Seniors & Juniors Tennis Championship that concluded at Modern Club Karachi. 

Asad Zaman won the U-16 singles and U-14 doubles crowns yesterday and now by winning the U-14 singles title, he has completed the hat-trick of titles in the prestigious event. In the U-14 singles final, Asad played well against Nadir Mirza and trounced him with a score of 4-1, 4-2. Asad thanked Mustafa Burney, Rashid Malik and Tariq Zaman for their all-out support and patronage, which helped him win triple crowns in the prestigious event. 

Muhammad Ahtisham of Lahore played tremendous tennis Raahim Veqar in the U-18 boys singles final and won the three-set encounter with the score being 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. Natalia Zaman earned top honor in Girls under 18 Singles event beating Zainab Ali with 6-0, 6-1 score. In U-12 singles final, Zohaib Malik remained unfortunate to complete hat-trick of titles as he was beaten by Samer Zaman 4-2, 4-0. In the U-10 singles final, Rashid Ali Bachani beat Majid Ali Bachani 4-1, 4-2. 

In the men’s singles event, Omer Shahid toppled Vinod Das by 6-1, 6-1. The men’s doubles title was won by Aqeel Shabbir and Murad Khan, who routed Shahab Khan/Adnan Khan 8-4. The 45 plus doubles was won by Zafar Hasan and Sher Ahmed, who defeated Javed Iqbal and Muhammad Iltifat 8-6. In 55 plus doubles final, Pasha/Javed beat Zafar Hasan/Razi Nawab.

The 10th Addition of Essa Lab National Seniors & Juniors Tennis Championships concludes at Modern Club Hard courts. The championship was sponsored by Dr. Essa Laboratory & Diagnostic Center and organized by Karachi Tennis Association (KTA) under the auspices of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) and Sindh Tennis Association (STA). 

Muhammad Faiz Kidwai, Director Elect Rotary International, graced the concluding day as chief guest and gave away prizes and trophies to the winners and runners-up of various events in the presence of sizeable crowd. Aslam Ranger (Wall Street Exchange Pvt. Ltd), Anwar Baig (Modern Club), Zubair   Hameed (Head Essa Lab Dhora Jee Branch), STA President Gulzar Firoz (Tagh-e-Imtiaz), Zafar Hasan (KTA VP) and Aslam Ranger were guests of honor. 

Also present on the occasion were Khalid Shamsi (STA VP), Reza Ali Mirza (STA VP), Saqib Latif (Essa Lab), Muhammad Taqi (Fencing), Kalim Awan (Cycling), Perveen Akhter, Raisa Ashfaq, Afshan Fatima.  Chief guest Faiz Kidwai, while praising Essa Lab for their unmatchable services to the community wellbeing and sports, himself offered to support tennis in future.  Muhammad Khalid Rehmani thanked Essa Lab, especially Dr Farhan Essa for supporting tennis for the last 10 years and announced to hold 1st Muslim Sports Ranking Tennis Championships later this month. 

He also thanked Modern Club and its members.
