SHC extends interim bail plea of Sindh Assembly Speaker

KARACHI - Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday extended an interim bail of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani in a case pertaining to illegal appointments in Lyari General Hospital. A two-member bench of the SHC heard the interim bail plea of Durrani in illegal appointments case. During the hearing, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor told the court that an investigation was underway against Durrani and other accused in the case. He said that Durrani was summoned to NAB office pertaining to the ongoing probe into illegal appointments. The court directed Durrani to cooperate with the NAB in the probe and also ordered the NAB to submit its progress report pertaining to the inquiry. The NAB had issued call-up notice to Sindh Assembly speaker in connection with an alleged illegal appointment in Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University. 

 

The anti-graft watchdog had also issued a call-up notice to Durrani over alleged illegal appointments in Liyari General Hospital.
