Shangla blast aimed at Amir Muqam killed 6

Six policemen were killed on Sunday when a roadside blast targeted Advisor to Prime Minister Amir Muqam’s convoy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Shangla district; however, PML-N leader remained safe in the attack.According to details, twin blasts took place near the vehicle of Amir Mukam in Martung, a sub tehsil of Shangla district, killing six security personnel while injuring two others.The vehicle was partially destroyed while Amir Mukam escaped unhurt in the attack, the police said.It was also reported that it was remote controlled blast while the PML-N leader was on a visit to attend a jirga in Martung.The dead personnel include Asif Khattak, Jawad, Jaffar Shah, Qari and Fazal Sattar. The police van was completely destroyed in the blast.Talking to a media, Amir Mukam said he was safe but his six security personnel were martyred, adding that it was the sixth assassination attempt at him.Prime Minister's Advisor Engineer Ameer Muqam has expressed his profound grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of his security personnel.He said the martyrs include one Islamabad Police official‚ three  Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and two personal guards.He expressed his resolve that terrorists will not be allowed to succeed in their nefarious designs.According to DIG Malakand, Abdullah Khan, the bomb blast occurred near vehicle of Amir Muqam in Martung village of Shangla district.He said the PML-N leader remained unhurt in the explosion, however, the blast hit a police vehicle, leaving six policemen dead, according to initial reports.He further said that Amir Muqam, who has survived many such attacks, was on his way to Shangla from Swat when his convoy met the incident.About nature of the blast, the DIG said miscreants set off a remote controlled Improvised Explosive Device (IED) to target the convoy.Amir Muqam was shifted to safer place as Bomb Disposal Squad members were inspecting the blast site.
