Jallo Park to be a model park

LAHORE -The Punjab government has taken out a number of steps to upgrade Jallo Park, spread at 456 acres of land and being controlled by the Forest Department, and in the first phase, the land has been evacuated and including of registration of FIR, legal action has been taken against over-chargers and violators. Similarly, beautification of roadsides from the Mall to Jallo Park has also been started. This was told to the media by Provincial Secretary Forest Punjab Khusro Pervaiz Khan after inaugurating 3-day Workshop of Forest Guards at Jallo Park here on Friday. He said as per instructions of Chief Minister Punjab, all efforts were being taken to facilitate the visitors. "Security will be ensured and construction of boundary wall of the Jallo Park will be started. 50-km long track road of bicycle riding, badminton and volley ball courts, Scotties, cricket and other sports will also be made available at the Park," he said adding that concrete steps were being adopted to give a new look of this park which would increase the number of visitors manifold. Khusro further said in this beautification plan, the Parks and Horticulture Authority, District Government, Irrigation and Communication and Works Departments were also playing their role. He said access would be provided to everyone through email and toll free number to register his complaint, and suggestion for the betterment of the Jallo Park. Secretary Forests further told the media that from all over Punjab, forests guards have been invited this 3-day workshop, which would provide them an opportunity to study relevant field. He said this on-job training has been initiated as a new experience, which would help the officials professionally.
