ATTOCK - 45 water filteration plants have been installed at the cost of Rs60 million for the provision of hygienically clean drinking water to the residents of Attock, Hazro and Hasanabdal which will certainly control water borne diseases. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said this while addressing a gathering after inaugurating water filteration plants in village Pethi and Rahmu of tehsil Hazro. Malik Amin said, this step had been taken because of increase in pathological pollution specially in tehsil Hazro and some areas of Attock resulting in spread of Cholera, Hepatitus, Typhoid and child diseases. While giving details of the water filteration plants he said that five water filteration plants had been installed in Attock while rest of the plants had been installed in Faqeerabad, Haji Shah, Golra, Sarwala, Dher and Gondal of Attock tehsil. He said that four water filteration plants had been installed in Hasanabdal City and one plant each in village Shahia and Hassar. Malik Amin while talking about Hazro tehsil said that three plants had been installed in Hazro City and onr plant each in Mararia, Mula Mansoor, Formali, Haidra, Tajak, Waisa, Kamalpur Musa, Haroon, Hameed, Yaseen, Malhoo, Khagwani, Kalu Kalan, Kalu Khurd, Mararia, Behboodi, Ghourghushti, Shinka, Qutb Bandi and Jalalia. SAPM Amin Aslam said that beside this four drainage schemes and three water supply schemes for village Qibla Bandi, Mula Mansoor and Haji Shah were being completed. Malik Amin said, other problems of the area would be resolved soon.
He said, share from hydal profit from Ghazi Barotha project would be now given to Attock district also and said that gas facility to 35 villages of NA 56 would be given soon.
He said that govt was also giving priority to education sector and said that classes in Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Attock Campus would be started this year offering admissions in BS Agriculture, BS Mathematics , BS Computer Science and BS Economics. He said that this university campus was being established over an area of one thousand kanal costing approximately one billion rupees. This campus will be fully patronised by the govt sector and will be a blessing for those students from low income families who will be able to get admission on merit who cannot think of higher education because of financial constraints .
This state of the art university, when it will be fully operational, accomodate more than 30 thousand students in different faculities and beside this will create hundered of job opportunities in different fields within the campus. He said that the campus would have foreign qualified PhD teaching faculty and would have state of the art facilities including hostels for the students.
