Sialkot University to establish African Study Centre

SIALKOT  -  University of Sialkot (USKT) is taking the lead to establish African Study Centre in Pakistan. The development is supported by Embassy of Pakistan in Ribat and Morocco. Ambassador of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Morocco His Excellency Hamid Asghar Khan addressed students, scholars and academicians at University of Sialkot where he unveiled potential of Africa with regard to new opportunities particularly in the areas of technology, trade and investment. With a pointer in hand; the ambassador illustrated Geo-strategic implications of collaborations with African countries specially Morocco.

 He urged USKT to step forward and venture with Moroccan universties in the areas of mutual interest.

 Today, growth and development is product of international connections, when countries fail in connecting with other countries they become more and more isolated, he said. 

 While addressing the session Executive Director, Universitiy of Sialkot Honorable Muhammad Rehan Younas admired the ambassador for outstanding diplomatic career and briefed his Excellency about the potential of the varsity to steer a course of research & collaborations with African countries. He said University of Sialkot was envisioned to impart a regional impact while influencing global intellectual property. 

 Sialkot University Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Saeed Ul Hasan Chishti emphasised on the importance of international linkages and termed it a way to network effectively with academia and industry located in other countries. He assured full support of USKT to the ambassador in establishment of African study centre. The session was attended by a number of students.
