PML-N marchers gatecrash Presidency

ISLAMABAD - Leading a good number of parliamentarians and workers, the opposition leader in the National Assembly Ch Nisar Ali Khan on Monday marched from the Parliament House to the Presidency and gave a sit-in to register protest against the federal government’s policies.
The march started from outside the Parliament where hundreds of PML-N workers were already waiting for their leadership to come out and lead them towards the Presidency. The rally, when reached the Presidency, was stopped at the first barricade. However, the participants crossed it after a scuffle with police and managed to reach the Presidency gate where they gave a sit-in, chanted anti-government slogans and demanded the President and the Prime Minister leave the public offices.
Addressing the rally, Ch Nisar warned the federal government that the PML-N would now start its protest on the roads and streets across the country.
“Today we broke two check posts to reach here – imagine if Mian Nawaz Sharif had given a protest call to the whole nation. The two convicted persons should respect the law, judiciary and of the people. If they did not, then remember that today we only broke the check posts. We can also broke this gate (of the Presidency),” Nisar warned while adding that the conspiracies against the judiciary must stop.  He said that some segments were criticising the PML-N’s protest in and outside the Parliament and instead advising it to take part in budget debate. He added that the Opposition took part in the last 4 budget debates and gave suggestions to the government, but it finally reached the conclusion to stage a protest and raise the people’s voice in and outside the Parliament.
“Those who are advising us for protest in the Parliament should also ask the federal government to respect the judiciary and resolve the general public issues. I ask President Zardari and PM Gilani to come out from their palaces and look at the poor people of the country and resolve their problems. Be scared of the time when the whole country will gather here at your gates and you will find no way to escape,” he added.
Central leader of the PML-N, Senator Raja Zafar-ul-Haq said that the President and the Prime Minister do not know the pains of a common man. “People are losing jobs due to load shedding while inflation and poor law and order have further destroyed the country’s economy.”
He added that the incumbent rulers only know how to exploit the people and how to make money. He vowed that the PM-N would continue its struggle for the solution of the people’s issue and to introduce the real democracy in the country.
